Dark Night Presents:

Cricket Brown

Cricket Brown is a current Drama student at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. While growing up in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, she was involved in Pittsburgh CLO’s main stage seasons and their Academy for Musical Theater. She is an artistic member of Aris Co., a production company created by her and fellow students from UNCSA. Currently she serves as an intern for the Attic Theater Company and the Bushwick Starr. Cricket looks forward to one day moving to New York City to continue creating ground-breaking theater.

Julia Crytser is a senior at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.  Previously, she attended the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities and graduated with a certificate in acting.  After receiving her BFA in acting from UNCSA, Julia will move to New York full-time to pursue a career acting, directing, and producing theater.  In order to support her theater habit, Julia waits tables and tends bar while wearing a sailor costume.  She is super excited to produce her first ever play in NYC!

Our intern program is designed to give our interns the tools to produce theater on their own.

All interns are given the opportunity to utilize and reinforce their new skills in our intern "Dark Night" production, which is a night of intern-produced theatre at the culmination of the internship.  This is a self-directed and self-produced piece of work, where Attic members act as mentors throughout the process of producing this evening, and help promote the performance to our industry contacts, artists and community.

For one night only, join us for the free performance of an original play about a women's self defense course and the unexpected community that it forms.

RAD!  is the story of five women whose lives are changed forever when a normal afternoon at the street fair leads them to an impromptu self defense class.  While exploring their social defenses, these women soon discover that what they've been hiding is actually what the world needs.
